Nicholas Kane is a filmmaker currently based in Oakland, CA. He studied filmmaking at Idyllwild Arts Academy and the Los Angeles Film School where he focused on narrative and documentary filmmaking. Promptly after, he began working in various capacities as a filmmaker in Los Angeles. After 3 years of professional work he returned to school at Hampshire College where he majored in ethnomusicology and documentary filmmaking. For his final project he created a film about the House and Techno music scene in Paris, France which began his ‘Microcosm’ film series chronicling electronic music internationally. His current projects continue to focus on music, culture and community, bringing him to San Francisco, Croatia and Moldova.
