Camilla grew up in South Africa. As an activist in the anti-apartheid movement, she worked for independent publishers who originated works by anti-apartheid intellectuals and artists, including Nobel Laureates Nelson Mandela, Nadine Gordimer and J.M. Coetzee. She moved to the U.S. in 2000 where she continued in book publishing until she launched Becket Films with her husband, Jim. The company is focused on international environmental issues, social justice and health, and is currently in post-production on a feature documentary, The Seeds of Vandana Shiva. The film tells the life story of international eco-activist, Dr. Vandana Shiva and her rise to fame as “Monsanto’s worst nightmare.” Camilla lives in Ojai, California and is active in the international food justice movement.
